On occasion when I get extremely frustrated with school work I will simply walk out the door and go for a drive. Last time I did this I ended up at Chapters after driving for a few hours. I found a book called the Illustrated History of Furniture. It sounds lame, but I really like the book.
My favorite designer within the book is Thomas Chippendale. Chippendale designed and built furniture fromt the early to late-mid 1700's. The carvings in the wood are done exceptionally well. He only worked with the best wood.
I think I like his illustrations more than the photos of furniture. A lot of the ideas don't seem like they would be possible to actually carve into wood. Many of the details would not work well and the wood would easily chip out.
